With the holidays just around the corner, your clients will have holiday parties and special events to get ready for. It's important to extend your opening hours/days if you want to be able to accomodate these needs. There is no point in scheduling extended hours if you don't let your clients know, so be sure to tell them via post, email, your website, in salon and every way that you have of contacting them.
In our salon we are normally open Tuesday - Saturday, but for the week before Christmas we open Sunday and Monday as well. Also, we are always open on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, as these are big days for our clients. We give our staff time off during the quiet time between Christmas and New Year to compensate for the extra days they work before Christmas.
If you don't operate a waiting list, make sure you at least have one for the holidays. There are always cancellations and appointment changes and you'll want to be sure that your staff don't find themselves sitting with nothing to do. Your clients will appreciate that surprise phone call to let them know that you can fit them in afterall.
